Warren - Art L. Anderson, 88, died Monday, October 27, 1997 at North Valley Health Center in Warren.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, October 30 at 2 p.m. at the Green Funeral Home Chapel in Thief River Falls with Pastor Michael Rico officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the services. Burial will be in Viking Cemetery in Viking.
Arthur LeRoy Anderson was born on September 29, 1909 in Viking, the son of Anton and Ida (Markusson) Anderson. He was baptized in the Lutheran faith and attended country school in Viking.
He was united in marriage to Ella Engen on December 21, 1930 in Warren. The couple made their home near Viking for 12 years. In 1946 Art went to work for the Hallett Construction Company where he worked for 28 years until retiring in 1974. Art worked as a foreman and trouble shooter and his job took him to many different states.
Following retirement, Art worked pouring basements and foundations for residential houses. He also worked for the American Crystal Sugar Company at the beet piling station located in Warren.
Art enjoyed going to auction sales and was also an avid hunter and fisherman. He enjoyed inventing things. In l984 he suffered a stroke which paralyzed his left side, and for the past 13 years he resided at the Good Samaritan Home in Warren.
Art is survived by his wife Ella of Argyle; one son, Douglas (Colleen) Anderson of Oslo; one daughter, Dr. Gail Anderson of Argyle; three grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his son Duane of October in 1996; his parents; and three brothers, Andy, Carl and Elmer.
