
Greenbush - Arnold Anderson, 87, died Sunday, November 26, 2000 at Northwest Medical Center in Thief River Falls.
Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, November 28 at Bethel Lutheran Church in Greenbush with Rev. Ernie Christensen officiating. Joan Haugen was the organist, and Marie Olson was the vocalist. Casketbearers were Tamara and Jeff Nelson, Tad and Troy Anderson, Damien and Vanessa McKay, Heather Anderson and Jason Lee. Interment was in Bethel Lutheran Cemetery in Greenbush with Gieseke Funeral Chapel in charge of the arrangements.
Arnold Howard Anderson was born on June 30, 1913 in Deer River township of Roseau county, the son of Albert and Annie (Bagstad) Anderson. He attended a country school in Lind township of Roseau county and later attended Northwest School of Agriculture in Crookston.
On October 22, 1949, Arnold married Pearl Anderson at Bethel Lutheran Church at Greenbush with Rev. H.B. Mathiason officiating. Arnold farmed his entire life. He also drove school bus for Greenbush School. He sold insurance for many years and served on the board of Roseau County Mutual Insurance Co.
He was an active member of Bethel Lutheran Church and served on its council. For many years, Arnold was the clerk of Hereim township.
He was an avid hunter and fisherman, and he enjoyed all sports.
Arnold is survived by his wife, Pearl; a son, Arlyn (Janice) Anderson of Greenbush; a daughter, Paula (Phillip) McKay of Eagan; six grandchildren; and a sister, Palma (Norman) Stenberg of Baxter.
He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Benard, Orville and Edwin Anderson; and two sisters, Alice Bjorkedal and Judith Dahlberg. A00003B2000NV29
