Turtle Lake, WI - Alf Anderson, 80, died Monday, August 9 1999 at his home in Turtle Lake, WI.

Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, August 12 at Skinner Funeral Home in Turtle Lake, WI with Reverend John Wilman officiating. Casketbearers were Don Selle, Larry Delander, Jeff Anderson, Don Anderson, Bruce Anderson and Francis Anderson. Military rites were accorded by the Turtle Lake American Legion. Burial was in Mt. Hope Cemetery in Turtle Lake, WI.

Alf Anderson was born on October 26, 1918 in Thief River Falls, the son of Arthur and Ida (Fermite) Anderson.

He was a veteran of World War II, serving with the United States Army for three years. He later joined the U.S. Marines and served for five years. For many years he was a carpenter in the western states, including Nevada and Oregon. He also worked for the railroad.

Alf enjoyed reading, cooking, camping out and photography. He took many photographs of the mountains and historical monuments of the Old West. He was a traveler of the scenic wonders of the United States and traveled often by Harley Davidson.

Survivors include one brother, Glen Anderson of Turtle Lake; one sister, Geneva Anderson of Fergus Falls; three nephews; one niece; and many grand nieces and grand nephews.
