Park City, Ill. - Aileen E. Anderson, 83, died on Saturday, May 20, 2000 at Pavilion Nursing Home in Waukegan, Ill.
A graveside service was held at 10 a.m. on Friday, May 26, at the Finnish Cemetery in Plummer.
Visitation was held on Thursday, May 25, from 5 to 8 p.m. with a 7 p.m. prayer service at Petterson Funeral Home in Red Lake Falls.
Aileen Silta was born on January 27, 1917 in Ironwood, Mich., the daughter of Iver and Senja (Kangas) Silta. She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith in Michigan and attended school in Ironwood and rural Plummer.
Aileen worked in Chicago, Ill. for a number of years and married Herbert W. Anderson on July 2, 1949. The couple lived in Chicago, Melrose Park and Park City, Ill.
She was a member of St. Marks Lutheran Church, the United Ostomy Association and the Park Place Senior Center.
Aileen is survived by her husband, Herbert of Park City, Ill.; one granddaughter; one great-granddaughter; and several other relatives.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Helmo Silta; and one sister, Ruth Christie.
