Edmund Andeen, 95

Warren - Edmund Andeen, 95, died on Sunday, January 12, 2003 at the Good Samaritan Center in Warren.

Funeral services will be held at Edmund Andeen 10 a.m. on Friday, January 17 at the Evangelical Covenant Church in Warren. Interment will be held in Greenwood Cemetery in Warren. Visitation will be held at 3 p.m. with a 4:30 p.m. prayer service on Thursday, January 16 at the Quanrud-DuBore Funeral Home in Warren and for one hour prior to services at the church on Friday. Memorials are preferred to the Good Samaritan Center, Evangelical Covenant Church or any charity of the donors choice.

Edmund Clifford Andeen was born on July 14, 1907, the son of Emmanuel and Hannah Skoglund in Foldahl Township of Marshall County. He attended country school.

On September 6, 1935, he married Evelyn Westman. She died on March 14, 1937 after the birth of their daughter. Edmund was a welder in the shipyards during World War II. He was a self-employed contractor who owned a gravel pit, built township roads and cleared land. On October 23, 1954, he married Gladys Lundberg. The couple made their home in Warren.

Edmund was a member of the Warren Evangelical Covenant Church and the Warren Rod and Gun Club. He was an avid fisherman and hunter. He made lamps from wood and did excellent metal work. Edmund was known as being a "fix-it" man.

Survivors include his daughter, Joyce (Roger) Bjerk of Edelstein, Ill.; stepchildren, Marlyce Walker of Phoenix, Ariz., Joseph (Betty) Lundberg of Gold Canyon, Ariz. and Ruth Ann (Robert) Strandberg of Warren; 11 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; sisters, Gladys Johnson of Thief River Falls and MaryAnn (Clem) Schwartz of Eau Claire, Wisc.; and several nieces and nephews.

Edmund was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Evelyn; brother, Kenneth; and sisters, Eleanore Hanson and Doris Peterson. A00003B2002JA15
