Miles Amundson, 49

Strandquist - Miles Amundson, 49, died Thursday, April 9 at his home in Strandquist.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, April 18 at Green Funeral Home Chapel in Thief River Falls with Sherman McCormick officiating. Burial will be in Nyed Cemetery in Foldahl township of Marshall county.

Visitation will be held for one hour prior to services on Saturday.

Miles Duane Amundson was born on May 4, 1949 in Milwaukee, WI, the son of Clifford and Kathleen (Lindholm) Amundson. He was baptized in the Christian faith. As a young man he moved to Strandquist where he completed his education and began working as a truck driver. On October 5, 1973 he was united in marriage to Darlene Meader in Karlstad. The couple raised their daughter, and Miles continued to work as a truck driver and in agriculture in the Strandquist area.

He enjoyed painting, welding, working on cars, crossword puzzles and spending time with his family and friends. He was a member of the Eagles Aerie in Karlstad.

Miles is survived by his daughter, Lisa (Brian) Anderson of Karlstad; three brothers, Gary (Annemarie) Amundson of Coon Rapids, Clayton (Shirley) Amundson of San Diego, CA and Leslie Amundson of Strandquist; several nieces and nephews; and several great nieces and great nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; grandparents; and several aunts and uncles.
