Margaret Amren, 85

Cloquet - Margaret "Muggs" Amren, 85, formerly of St. Hilaire, died on Thursday, October 24, 2002 at the Cloquet Community Memorial Nursing Home.

Funeral services were held on Monday, October 28 at Bethesda Evangelical Lutheran Church in Carlton with Rev. Michael Fossen officiating. Interment was in Greenwood Cemetery in Thief River Falls.

Margaret was born on February 16, 1917 in Thief River Falls. She married Oscar Amren on June 16, 1935 in Hibbing. Together they farmed in St. Hilaire. Margaret was a homemaker who enjoyed her family and friends. She especially enjoyed gardening and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Survivors include two sons, Richard (Marjorie) of Frederick, Md. and Thomas (Barbara) of San Antonio, Texas; two daughters, Marlys (Brad) McKinstry of Carlton and Cheryl (Chuck) Granlund of White Bear Lake; one brother, Kermit Eastman of Sauk Rapids; three sisters, Katherine Travnicek of Warroad, Mildred Bakke of Thief River Falls and Lorraine Brown of St. Paul; 14 grandchildren; and 25 great-grandchildren.

Margaret was preceded in death by her husband, Oscar; brothers, Joseph and Gordon; and sisters, Alice, Helen, Gladys and Violet.
