Sharilyn Almquist, 31

Cummings, N.D. - Shari Almquist, 31, died Sunday, May 13, 2001 at Altru Hospital in Grand Forks, N.D.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. today (Wednesday, May 16) at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Hillsboro, N.D. Interment will be at 4 p.m. today in Community Cemetery at St. Hilaire.

Visitation was held Tuesday, May 15, from 4 to 7 p.m. with a 7 p.m. prayer service at Wildeman Funeral Home in Hillsboro, N.D. Visitation will also be held for one hour prior to services at the church.

Shari Almquist was born on July 11, 1969, the daughter of Basil and Senora Almquist. She graduated from Central Valley High School in 1987 and attended Oak Hills Bible College in Bemidji. She attended Mayville (N.D.) State University and worked at Luther Memorial Nursing Home in Mayville.

In 1993, Shari was in an automobile accident which left her a quadriplegic. She was transferred to Craig Hospital which specialized in spinal cord injuries, remaining there until her release when she returned to Cummings, N.D. where she made her home with her parents. After recovering from the accident, she continued her education, studying voice at the University of North Dakota.

Shari is survived by her parents, Basil and Senora Almquist of Cummings, N.D.; three brothers, David (Corina) of McAllen, Texas, Bradley of Murray, Ky. and Marvin (Cathy) of Cincinnati, Ohio; and several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents. A00003B2000MY16
