Ella Alme, 90

Greenbush - Ella Alme, 90, died Saturday, November 24, 2001 at Karlstad Healthcare Center in Karlstad. Alme Obit

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, November 29, at United Free Lutheran Church in Greenbush with Rev. Ken Hart and Rev. Raynard Huglen officiating. Natalie Korczak was the pianist, and the vocalists were Eddie Hanson and Donna Graff. Casketbearers were Carlyle Pederson, Arlan Dalager, Eddie Hanson, David Gustafson, John Rhude and Donny Melby. Burial was in Bethlehem Lutheran Cemetery, rural Greenbush, with Gieseke Funeral Chapel of Greenbush in charge of the arrangements.

Ella Pederson was born on September 30, 1911 in Hereim Township of Roseau County near Greenbush, the daughter of Gunder and Annette (Gunnelson) Pederson. She was confirmed at Pauli Lutheran Church, rural Greenbush, and attended school at Greenbush.

On February 10, 1945, Ella married Andrew Alme. The couple farmed in Lind Township near Greenbush. Andrew died in 1977.

Ella was an active member of Bethlehem Ladies Aid of rural Greenbush.

After having three lessons as a child, she taught herself to play the piano and enjoyed playing for 75 years. She also enjoyed gardening, quilting, reading and making projects from wood.

Ella is survived by two sons, Merlyn (Elaine) Alme and Leslie (Randy) Alme, both of Greenbush; five grandchildren; and a sister, Annette Rosella Jennings of Paragould, Ark.

She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; seven brothers, Ole, Clarence, Jens, Peder, Thomas, Carl and her twin, Elvin; and three sisters, Lydia Lillemon, Alma Anderson and Mildred Pederson. A00003B2001DC05
