
Greenbush - Bjarne Alme, 88, died Monday, May 3, 1999 at Altru Hospital in Grand Forks, ND.
Funeral services were held at 2:30 p.m. on Friday, May 7 at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, rural Greenbush, with Pastor Irvin Schmitke officiating. Natalie Korczak was the pianist, and the soloist was Lucy Wiskow. Anna Alme played the flute. Casketbearers were Merlyn Alme, Leslie Alme, Arlan Dalager, Norman Svegdahl, Orleen Anderson and David Gustafson. Burial was in Bethlehem Lutheran Cemetery. The Gieseke Funeral Home of Greenbush was in charge of the arrangements.
Bjarne Alme was born on August 14, 1910 in Dewey township of Roseau county, the son of Iver E. and Inga Pauline (Loken) Alme. In 1919 he moved with his parents to Lind township of Roseau county. He attended schools in Dewey and Lind townships and was a member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church, rural Greenbush. He was a life-long farmer in Lind township. For the past few years he had been a resident of the Karlstad Health Care Center.
Bjarne is survived by a sister-in-law; three nephews; five nieces; and several great-nieces and great-nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Andrew Alme; and one sister, Selma Dalager.
