
Roseau - Margaret Albin, 76, died Sunday, March 22, 1998 at her home in Roseau.
Funeral services were held on Wednesday, March 25 at 2 p.m. at the Bethel-Stafford Lutheran Church, rural Roseau, with Reverend Frank Livingston officiating. Interment was in the Bethel-Stafford Lutheran Cemetery. The Helgeson Funeral Home of Roseau was in charge of the arrangements.
Margaret Eleanore Stoe was born on January 19, 1922 in Dieter township of Roseau county, the daughter of Ole and Alma (Hellesvig) Stoe. She grew up and attended school in Ross and graduated from Badger High School. Margaret worked at restaurants, cared for children and worked on farms before she and John Albin were united in marriage on September 28, 1946 at the Concordia Church in Ross township. The couple moved to Stafford township where they grain farmed and raised dairy cattle.
Margaret was a member the Bethel-Stafford Lutheran Church and its ladies group. She enjoyed sewing, gardening and flowers.
Margaret is survived by two sons, Jerome Albin of Roseau and James (Pat) Albin of Warroad; one daughter, Sharon (Ward Jr.) Votava of Thief River Falls; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; five brothers, Anfin and Ruben Stoe of Roseau, Henry (Audrey) Stoe of Badger, Delbert (Beverly) Stoe of Brainerd and Raymond (Delores) Stoe of Lino Lakes; and three sisters, Mary (Morris) Bottem of St. Paul, Delores Johnson of Roseau and Vivian (Clarence) Lee of Mound.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband John in 1993; sister Geneva and an infant sister.
