Ralph Albaugh Sr., 83, died Wednesday, December 6, 2000 at Altru
Hospital in Grand Forks, N.D.
Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, December 16, at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Radium. Interment was the church cemetery with Quanrud-DuBore Funeral Home of Warren in charge of the arrangements.
Ralph Robert Albaugh was born on July 1, 1917 at Hazelton, N.D., the son of Herbert and Minnie Belle (Power) Albaugh. Ralph spent part of his childhood years in Emmons county of North Dakota where he attended school through the sixth grade. He worked on the family farm and also in the family coal mine.
On November 18, 1941, Ralph was united marriage to Marie Renz at Mandan, N.D. Following their marriage, they moved to Neche, N.D. and resided there until Ralph was drafted in July of 1942. He spent most of his military time as a military policeman, primarily at Lawson General Hospital near Atlanta, Ga. After Ralph was discharged in January of 1946, he and Marie moved to the Radium area where they resided until 1979 when they moved to Warren.
He was a farmer for many years and after retiring still enjoyed being outside and working in his vegetable garden. Other favorite activities included fishing for bullheads in the Thief River, tinkering and repairing things and especially spending time with family and friends.
Ralph was an active member of Immanuel Lutheran Church of Radium where he served as a trustee for a time.
Survivors include his wife, Marie; two daughters, Ralphine (Dale) Parent of Minneapolis and Ruth (Kenneth) Beaudry of Owatonna; two sons, Robert (Judy) Albaugh of Grand Forks, N.D. and Terry (Debbie) Albaugh of Warren; 11 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; several sisters-in-law; and many nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Ralph was preceded in death by his parents, 11 brothers and three sisters. A00003B2000DC20
