
Thief River Falls - Adeline Acerra, 93, died Friday, August 13, 1999 at Northwest Medical Center in Thief River Falls.
Memorial services will be held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, August 24 at Green Funeral Home in Thief River Falls. Kara Larson will be the organist.
Adeline Santucci was born on May 26, 1906 at Mingo Juction, OH, the daughter of Cesidio and Agnes (Anzuini) Santucci. She was baptized on June 10, 1906 at St. Agnes Church in Mingo Juction, OH. She attended school at and graduated from Holy Name Cathedral. She graduated from business college at Steubenville, OH. Adeline worked in her father's store in Steubenville and, as the oldest of 10 children, at home.
On October 7, 1926 she was united in marriage to Joseph Acerra at the home of her parents by Judge Downer. The couple moved to Long Branch, NJ where Adeline was a mother and housewife, and Joseph was a musician.
They moved to a dairy farm at Smithfield, OH where they separated milk and cream to make cheese. Joseph also mined soft coal and worked in town while Adeline worked on the farm with her family.
Adeline and Joseph lived in Wintersville, OH for 18 years before moving to Madison, OH where they lived for 35 years. Adeline continued to live in Madison for 10 years after Joseph's death. On April 13, 1988 she moved to Thief River Falls. In December of 1997 she moved to Valley Home and moved to Oakland Park Nursing Home in October of 1998.
Adeline is survived by two daughters, Anna Mary (Alfred) Strand of Baudette and Agnes (Bill) Abt of Mystic, CT; one son, Joseph (Linda) Acerra of Madison, OH; eight grandchildren including Jennifer Springsteen of Thief River Falls; nine great-grandchildren; two great great-granddaughters; one sister, Ida DeSarro of Steubenville, OH; and one brother, Joseph "Pippi" Santucci of Elfers, FL.
She was preceded in death by her husband, parents and several siblings. A00003B1999AG18
