Kenneth D. "Ken" Aase, 69

Port Orchard, Wash. - Kenneth D. "Ken" Aase, 69, formerly of Thief River Falls, died on July 26, 2002 at his home in Port Orchard, Wash. AaseKX

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, August 1 at First Lutheran Church in Port Orchard, Wash. with Pendleton-Gilchrist Funeral Home at Rill Chapel in Port Orchard, Wash. in charge of the arrangements. Interment will be at a later date in Minnesota.

Kenneth D. "Ken" Aase was born on November 16, 1932, the son of Martin and Mabel (Wilson) Aase in Thief River Falls. Ken graduated from Lincoln High School in 1950. After graduating, he served from 1950-1953 in the United States Navy as an Aviation Boatswain's Mate Third Class. He received the Navy Occupation Service Medal.

On March 3, 1956 he married Alice Klopp in Thief River Falls. The couple moved to Babbitt, where Ken worked as a millwright at Reserve Mining for 28 years. He also worked as a shipfitter at BSNS. He retired in 1993.

Ken enjoyed spending time in the outdoors and was active in his church. He also enjoyed spending time with his family. He was a member of First Lutheran Church in Port Orchard, Wash.

Survivors include his wife, Alice of Port Orchard, Wash.; two sons, Coby of Babbitt, and Chris of Port Orchard, Wash.; two daughters, Sue Dailey of Port Orchard, Wash., and Cheryl Aase of Puyallup, Wash.; two brothers, Clifford of Bloomington, and Leonard of Coon Rapids; and 11 grandchildren.

Ken was preceded in death by his parents.
