
Thief
River Falls - Ethel T. Aase, 82, died Sunday, February 7, 1999 at
Oakland Park Nursing Home in Thief River Falls.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. today (Wednesday, February 10) at Trinity Lutheran Church in Thief River Falls with Rev. John Wollenzien officiating. Ida Nordvall will be the organist, and Grace Hammer will be the soloist. Casketbearers will be Ethel's grandchildren and her family. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery.
Visitation will be held one hour prior to services at the church. The Green Funeral Home of Thief River Falls is in charge of the arrangements.
Ethel Holten was born on March 25, 1916 in Wildrose, ND, the daughter of Nils and Oline (Strand) Holten. She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith and attended schools in North Dakota. The family later moved to Thief River Falls where she completed her education.
On June 4, 1935 she was united in marriage to Lawrence Aase in Thief River Falls. Ethel was a homemaker and active member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Sons of Norway, Rebecca Lodge, and various other clubs and organizations. She also served on the election board in Pennington county for a number of years.
She enjoyed sewing, crocheting, cooking and spending time with family and friends.
Ethel is survived by one son, Neil (Bonnie) Aase of Sioux Falls, SD; one daughter, Janice (Quint) Brevig of Hot Springs Village, AK; seven grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; four brothers, Harold, Thorwald, Walter and Othneil; two sisters, Olga and Anna; and an infant grandson.
