
Elena Aamodt, 89
Greenbush - Elena Aamodt, 89, died Monday, February 21, 2000 at the Greenbush Nursing Home.
Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. on Friday, February 25 at United Free Lutheran Church in Greenbush with Rev. Ken Hart officiating. Darlene Waage was the organist. Casketbearers were Rodney and Terry Anderson, Ross and Byron Eeg, Ellis and U. Otto Waage, Ronald Jacobson and Darryl Trangsrud. Honorary casketbearers were all of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Burial was in Zion Lutheran Cemetery, rural Greenbush, with the Gieseke Funeral Chapel in charge of the arrangements.
Elena Benedickta Eeg was born on February 28, 1910 in Greenbush, the daughter of Tennes and Thea (Nesteby) Eeg. She married Alfred Aamodt on June 25, 1940. The couple farmed for many years near Greenbush. Following their retirement, they lived in Greenbush and Middle River. Alfred died on September 2, 1985.
Elena is survived by two sons, Alton Aamodt of Greenbush and Edward (Sheryl) Aamodt of Superior, WI; two daughters, Jovenia (Wallace) Walton of Middle River and Carol (Paul) Laugen of Denver, CO; 10 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband; one son, Eugene; her parents; three brothers, Tenney and Theodore Eeg and Art Linder; and three sisters, Ilah Gauss, Alvilda Trangsrud and Thelma Anderson.
