
Thief River Falls - Anna Zinter, 89, died Thursday, September 21, 2000 at Oakland Park Nursing Home in Thief River Falls.
Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. on Monday, September 25, at St. John Lutheran Church in Thief River Falls with Rev. Don Kirchner officiating. Elaine Idso was the organist. Casketbearers were Donald Haack, Bryan Haack, Terry Timm, Sean Rivkin, Carl Zinter and Clarence Peders. Interment was in Greenwood Cemetery in Thief River Falls with Green Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.
Anna Zinter was born on June 25, 1911 in Parkers Prairie, the daughter of Karl and Clara Fredericke (Liersch) Zinter. In 1912, she moved with her family to St. Hilaire where she grew up and attended country school. She was confirmed at St. John Lutheran Church in Thief River Falls.
When Anna was younger, she did housekeeping in the Minneapolis-St. Paul area, and when she returned to Thief River Falls, she was employed as a teller at Northern State Bank for many years. She also worked in the sewing department at Arctic Cat for a few years and as a bookkeeper for Stordahl Trucking.
Anna was a member of St. John Lutheran Church where she was active in Ladies Aid, teaching Sunday school and quilting. She was also a member of the Woman's Professional Business Club.
She enjoyed sewing, crocheting, cooking and especially spending time with family and friends.
Anna is survived by two nieces, including Judy (Donald) Haack of Grygla.
She was preceded in death by her parents; twin sister, Esther Beiswenger; a sister, Hedweg "Hattie" Steumke; and five brothers, Adolph, Emil, Arthur, Carl and William. A00003B2000SP27
