Dolores Zatorski, 71

Red Lake Falls - Dolores Zatorski, 71, died Wednesday, December 1, 1999 at her home in Red Lake Falls.

Mass of Christian burial was held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, December 4, 1999 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Red Lake Falls with Father Tim Bushy officiating. Kathie Knott was the organist, and special music was provided by St. Joseph's Church Choir. Casketbearers were Tom Dzekunskas, Ted Schmitz, Trevor Dzekunskas, Garrett Schmitz, Mike Swendra and Rick Swendra. Burial was in St. Joseph's Catholic Cemetery in Red Lake Falls. The Petterson Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.

Dolores Mae Juhl was born on May 11, 1928 in Clyde, MO, the daughter of Dailey and Rosa (Wiederholt) Juhl. She was raised in Independence, MO and graduated from high school there in 1946. She worked for the Kansas City Power and Light Company for a time.

On June 27, 1953, she was united in marriage to Eugene Joseph Zatorski Jr. in Kansas City. The couple lived in various locations in the Midwest before moving to Red Lake Falls in 1972. Dolores worked for Homark and Thibert Chevrolet for a short time before going to work for the City of Red Lake Falls. She retired in 1991. Eugene died in April of 1986. Dolores moved to Sunview apartments in 1993 and resided there until the time of her death.

She enjoyed reading and visiting with her sister, Dorothy. She was a member of the HRH board, the Catholic Daughters and the Carmelite. She was also a foster grandparent at Hughs Elementary School in Red Lake Falls.

Dolores is survived by two daughters, Cynthia (Tom) Dzekunskas of Rock Island, IL and Cheryl (Ted) Schmitz of Minneota; one son, Neil Zatorski of St. Hilaire; five grandchildren; one sister, Dorothy (Leland) Roi of Red Lake Falls; and several nieces and nephews.
