
Mesa, AZ - LeRoy Wood, 82, died Friday, April 24, 1998 in Mesa, AZ.
Funeral services will be held today (Wednesday, April 29) at 11 a.m. at the Angus-Tabor Presbyterian Church in Angus. Visitation was held from 5 to 7 p.m. on Tuesday, April 28 at the Quanrud-DuBore Funeral Home in Warren and for one hour before services at the church.
LeRoy Arthur Wood was born on May 3, 1915 at his parents' farm home near Warren, the son of Arthur and Mabel (Head) Wood. As a young man he worked on the family farm.
He was united in marriage to Maxine Mae Johnston on September 17, 1938 at Crookston. The couple moved to the Johnston farm near Angus where they farmed for 30 years. After selling the farm, LeRoy worked at the Angus Co-op Elevator. After retiring, the couple spent their winters in Mesa, AZ where Maxine died in 1984.
In 1989, he married Alice (Olson) Johnson, a Viking native, in Mesa, AZ.
LeRoy was a Master Mason and an active member of the Angus-Tabor Presbyterian Church, the Angus Farm Bureau and the Eagles.
LeRoy is survived by his wife, Alice; five daughters, Marilyn (Dennis) Sherlock of Fargo, ND, Jean Rabon of Mesa, AZ, Patsy Wood (Bill Ketteman) of Lake Ottertail, Ruth (Russ) Sease of Sedona, AZ and Kathleen (Bruce) Austin of Vacaville, CA; one step-daughter, Bonnie Johnson of Walnut Creek, CA; 11 grandchildren; eight step-grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; two step-great-grandchildren; three sisters, Mavis Botko of Phoenix, AZ, Harriet Iverson of East Grand Forks and Arletta Marlette of Anniston, AL; one brother, Gaylord Wood of Phoenix, AZ; one sister-in-law; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Maxine; an infant son, Gary LeRoy; his parents; sister, Phyllis; brother, William; and stepson, Bruce Johnson.
