Pearl Wold, 72

Thief River Falls - Pearl Wold, 72, died Thursday, September 28, 2000 at Hillcrest Nursing Home in Thief River Falls.

Funeral services were held at 1 Pearl Wold p.m. on Sunday, October 1 at Redeemer Lutheran Church with Rev. Marcia Sylvester officiating. Joyce Halbasch was the organist, and special music was provided by Don Wahlbeck and Jan and Diedre Nordin. Casketbearers were Brian Judes, Greg Judes, Craig Korvela, Kyle Wold, Todd Erickson and Scott Hellquist. Burial was in Greenwood Cemetery in Thief River Falls with Green Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.

Pearl Elaine Swanson was born on July 7, 1928 in Thief River Falls, the daughter of Enoch and Cora (Amble) Swanson. She was baptized at First Lutheran Church in Thief River Falls. She grew up in Sanders township where she attended country school. She graduated from Lincoln High School.

On June 29, 1947, Pearl was united in marriage to Alvin Orville Wold at the Enoch Swanson farm. The couple made their home in Thief River Falls where Pearl was a homemaker, and the couple raised their two children.

Pearl was active in Ladies Aid and held office in the Christian Women's Club.

She enjoyed shopping for groceries, baking, sewing, crocheting, gardening, helping at church functions, attending auction sales, shopping for antiques, collecting cookbooks and antique dishes and especially spending time with her family and grandchildren.

Pearl is survived by her husband, Alvin; a son, Robert of Thief River Falls; a daughter, Bonnie (Ken) Judes of Gillette, Wy.; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; a brother, Harold (Betty) Swanson of Thief River Falls; a sister, Marie Erickson of Thief River Falls; and many nieces, nephews and other relatives.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a foster son, Kelly Wold. A00003B2000OC04
