Bruce Winslow, 48

Plummer - Bruce Winslow, 48, died Sunday, October 11, 1998 at his residence in Plummer.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, October 15 at Redeemer Lutheran Church in Plummer. Linda Olson will be the soloist and organist. Casketbearers will be Lowell Arlt, Les Arlt, Wayne Guillmette, Roger Gallant, Jim DuChamp and Ferd Dehate. Burial will follow services at the Emardville Cemetery, rural Plummer.

Visitation will be held one hour prior to services at the church. The Petterson Funeral Home in Red Lake Falls is in charge of the arrangements.

Bruce Allen Winslow was born on August 10, 1950 in Detroit Lakes, the son of Rosemary (DuBay) Winslow. He was baptized and confirmed into the Christian faith in Underwood where he was raised by foster parents, Lloyd and Alice Scramstad. He attended school and graduated from Underwood High School in 1968.

On August 28, 1971 Bruce was united in marriage to Darlene Prahl in Minneapolis.

Following high school Bruce worked for Honeywell in Golden Valley for two years and Albert Terbo Construction in Plummer for two years. For the next four years he was employed by the Red Lake Falls Sheriff's Department. He then went on to become the Chief of Police in Lake Bronson. He later worked in construction in Minneapolis, for Sears for two years and for Richie Brothers Auctioneers in Bloomington for 13 years. Bruce was then unable to work because of his deteriorating health.

Bruce enjoyed hunting, fishing, going for rides in the country and watching and playing football. He especially enjoyed spending time with his family. He was a member of the Plummer Lions Club.

Survivors include his wife, Darlene of Plummer; three children, Tonnie, Chris and Kimberly; two brothers, Ferd (Anna) DeHate of Plummer and Will Winslow of Matthews, MO; two sisters, Jane (Jim) Hurlock of Las Vegas, NV and Barbara (Orlin) Hovland of Rothsay; and several nieces, nephews and other relatives.

He was preceded in death by his mother; foster parents; and one sister, Susan.
