
Angus - Edwin Wimpfheimer, 82, died Monday, December 11, 2000 at Northwest Medical Center in Thief River Falls.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. on Friday, December 15, at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Warren with Rev. Richard Luedtke officiating. Bev Karr was the organist, and Rev. Troy Bates and Chrisy Bates were the vocalists. Casketbearers were Cory Wimpfheimer, Bob Wimpfheimer, Mark Wimpfheimer, Alan Washburn, Jason Sprosty, Daniel Sprosty, Cheri Wimpfheimer and Erica Wimpfheimer. Interment was in Greenwood Cemetery in Warren with Quanrud-DuBore Funeral Home of Warren in charge of the arrangements.
Edwin Henry Wimpfheimer was born on August 3, 1918 near Euclid, the son of Henry and Barbara (Love) Wimpfheimer. He attended a country school and moved with his parents to Helgeland township of Polk county in 1937.
On June 26, 1945, Edwin was united in marriage to Phyllis Knutson in Angus. The couple farmed and made their home in Helgeland township. Phyllis died on November 11, 2000.
Edwin enjoyed spending time with family and friends, gardening and reading.
Survivors include two daughters, Barbara (Patrick) Sprosty of Thief River Falls and Rose (Michael) Washburn of Caledonia, Wisc.; a son, Maynard (Karen) Wimpfheimer of Williams; eight grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; two step great-grandsons; four sisters, Emma Stobbe of Minnetonka, Annie Langle of Bemidji, and Doris Erickson and Betty Voytilla, both of Warren; one brother, Albert "Bud" (Elizabeth) Wimpfheimer of Cedar; and many nieces and nephews.
Edwin was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; a son, Kenneth; a grandson, Shawn Sprosty; four sisters, Adeline Wimpfheimer, Edith Pederson, Alice Solvik Pederson and Dorothy Halsa. A00003B2000DC20
