
Kensington - Carl Wilson, 62, died Monday, March 13, 2000 at his home in Kensington.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, March 16, at First Lutheran Church in Kensington.
Carl was born on July 21, 1937 in Hallock, the son of Oscar and Myrtle (Austring) Wilson. He grew up in northwestern Minnesota and graduated from Stephen High School. He married Mary Lou Turner in 1959.
On September 14, 1985, he was united in marriage to Rose Merry Blazejewski Sylskar. Carl worked at may different jobs, including owning and operating meat markets in Stephen and later Karlstad. He thenoperated a dairy farm near Karlstad, branching into cattle trucking and finally into hauling straw in Kensington. Due to his health, he sold his trucking business on March 1, 2000.
Carl was a member of First Lutheran Church of Kensington.
He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, playing cards, especially whist and blackjack, talking with family and friends. He also loved a good joke or two.
Carl is survived by his wife, Rose of Kensington; three sons, Jeffrey (Patti) Wilson of Ft. Man, AK, Greg (Jean) Wilson of Cook and Carl Roy Wilson of Pequot Lakes; three daughters, Becky (Dale) Jonasson of Corpperos, TX, Carla (Terry) Szkalrski of Strandquist, and Heather Wilson of Karlstad; five stepchildren, Jeff (Rhonda) Sylskar of Drayton, ND, Denise Beito of Newfolden, Robert (Hope) Sylskar of Drayton, ND, Brian (Sue) Sylskar of Hoffman and Darwin (Sue) Sylskar of Shakopee; 21 grandchildren; and two sisters, Dorothy (Perry) Setterholm of Nisswa and Margaret Klein of Grand Forks, ND.
