Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, May 23, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Thief River Falls with Rev. John Wollenzien officiating. Ida Nordvall was the organist, and LeRoy Aasland and Jill Dobis were soloists. Casketbearers were Don LaSalle, Don Grochow, Robert Apostal, Jerry Hunt, Arnie Engelstad and Steve Kangas. Interment was in Greenwood Cemetery in Thief River Falls with Green Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.

Marian Louise Hunt was born on November 16, 1907 in Livermore, Iowa, the daughter of Gertie (Stark) and Seymour Hunt. When she was four years old she came to Thief River Falls with her brother, Gordon, and parents to homestead near Germantown. They later moved to a farm south of Thief River Falls, and Marian and Gordon attended Rose Hill School in District 165 where they were the only students who did not speak Norwegian.

For awhile, Marian worked for board and room in Thief River Falls so that she could attend Lincoln High School. Later, she and Gordon rode in on their horses, stabling them during the day. After high school, she worked as a receptionist/helper in a local doctor's office, On September 15, 1928, she married Clarence Williams at Bemidji.

Marian was confirmed in the Lutheran faith as an adult, becoming active at Trinity Lutheran Church where she taught Sunday school and served as president of Ladies Aid. She worked with Girl Scouts, Job Daughters and was a member of the Women's Business and Professional Assn.

During World War II, she helped Clarence with his Cities Service stations and bulk delivery business, taking care of tire and gas ration coupons and driving a gas truck. She also operated Culligan Soft Water Service.

Marian especially enjoyed gardening, traveling, cooking, reading bowling and sewing and was a member of the Chat and Chew Homemakers Club.

Survivors include one daughter, Arlene Mickley of Moorhead; one son, Robert (Ann) Williams of Silverthorne, Colo.; five grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence in 1992; her parents; two grandsons, Timothy Mickley and Mark Williams; son-in-law, Jerry Mickley; and one brother, Gordon Hunt.
