Vernon Wilebski, 59

Greenbush - Vernon Wilebski, 59, died Sunday, March 1, 1998 at the Greenbush Nursing Home.

Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, March 5 at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church in Greenbush with Father Don Braukmann officiating. Eucharistic ministers were Joan Bertilrud, June Kasprowicz and Gerry Nubson. Special music was provided by Jeanne Novacek and Sandy Hand. Casketbearers were Todd Wilebski, Mike Wilebski, John Wilebski Jr., Brad Kasprowicz, Ben Kasprowicz, Brandon Kasprowicz and Brian Kasprowicz. Military honors were accorded by the Greenbush American Legion Post 88. Interment was at St. Aloysius Catholic Cemetery at Leo. The Collins Funeral Home of Greenbush was in charge of the arrangements.

Vernon Louis Wilebski was born March 22, 1938 in St. Joseph's township near Lancaster, the son of Samuel and Mary (Maslolski) Wilebski. As a child he moved with his family to Greenbush where he attended school and grew to manhood. Vernon served with the U.S. Army from March of 1955 until March of 1958 and following his discharge, returned to Greenbush.

On November 20, 1962, he was united in marriage to Bernie Gonshorowski at Leo. The couple made their home at Greenbush for several years before moving to Kennedy. Vernon was employed by American Crystal Sugar at Drayton, was a beekeeper and also worked in road maintenance for the Kittson County Highway Dept. for 12 years. For the past six years, Vernon resided at the Greenbush Nursing Home.

He was a member of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church of Greenbush.

Vernon is survived by his wife, Bernie; two sons, Douglas (Sabrina) of Kennedy and Martin of Euliss, TX; one daughter, Joni (Jim) Fashing of El Paso, TX; two grandchildren; two brothers, Sam of Rose City, MI and Harry in Texas; two sisters, Frances Wesolowski of Lemont, IL and Pauline (Tony) Burkel of San Juan, TX; and many nieces, nephews and other relatives.

He was preceded in death by his parents; six brothers; and four sisters.
