Brian Wick, 54

La Puente, CA - Brian Dean Wick, 54, died Tuesday, March 25, 1997 in St. Paul.

Funeral services were held Saturday, March 29 at Crystal Lake Funeral Home in Minneapolis. Burial was in Crystal Lake Cemetery.

Casketbearers were Charles and Jeffrey Rustvold of Fargo, ND, Darrell and Robert Wick of St. Paul, Roger Thompson of Hopkins, and Dennis Haugen of Coon Rapids.

Brian was born on March 4, 1943 in Detroit, MI, the son of Elmer M. Wick and Betty Wick. When he was seven the family moved to Romeo, MI where they lived until he was 17. He was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith. The family came to Minneapolis in 1960 where he completed his high school education. After high school, he enlisted in the United States Navy where he served aboard the USS Ticonderoga in the Pacific. He was awarded several medals for his period of distinguished service, including a bronze star and a special commendation medal for his service during the Vietnam war in the gulf of Tonkin. Upon honorable discharge from the Navy, Brian settled in California and resided the majority of his life in La Puente. He was employed for 26 years with the Unites States Postal Service as a clerk until he took early retirement due to ill health.

He is survived by mother Betty (Thompson) Wick of Robbinsdale, formerly of Grygla; son Brent Wick of West Covina, CA; sisters Sharon Keller and Kathy Lindgren both of Robbinsdale; nieces Kim Ketolaand Sara Lindgren of Robbinsdale, Aimee Lindgren of Princeton; and numerous aunts and uncles.

He was preceded in death by his father; grandparents; four aunts; five uncles and five cousins.
