East Grand Forks - Sanford "Sandy" D. Weekley, 85, died Sunday, March 2, 1997 in Daytonna Beach, FL. Arrangements were with Stennes Funeral Home of East Grand Forks.
Funeral services were held Monday, March 10 at Mendenhall Presbyterian Church of East Grand Forks.
Sanford Weekley was born on July 16, 1911 in East Grand Forks, the son of Fred and Effie (Sliter) Weekley. He grew up in East Grand Forks. He was united in marriage on August 25, 1933 to Muriel C. Ostrem. Sandy worked for Stenson Chevrolet and then started his own business, Sandy's Body Shop, in 1949. Sandy and his son Ron worked together until 1975 when Sandy retired.
He is survived by son Ron (Judy) of East Grand Forks; daughter Marlys Weekley of Ceres, CA; two granddaughter's; one great-granddaughter; brothers Myron of Grand Forks, ND and Donald of Lytton, BC, Canada.
He was preceded in death by parents; wife Muriel in 1993; brothers Alfred, Vernon, Leland and Russell; sisters Hatie Valentine, Lillian Mickleby, Laurella Bucholtz and Edythe Weekley; and grandsons Kevin and Keith Weekley.
