
Trail - Ervin A. Weberg, 72, died on Sunday, January 18, 1998 at the Veteran's Administration Hospital in Fargo, ND.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, January 23 at 2 p.m. at Sand Valley Lutheran Church in Trail with Reverend Bob Kelly officiating. Cindy Bjerklie will be the organist. Vocal music will be provided by Carol Tharaldson and Pastors Harvey and Donna Hoiberg.
Casketbearers will be Almore Halvorson, Kurt Halvorson, Emery Olson, Robert Olson, Lorenzo Eck and Ole Watne. Ervin's grandchildren and friends will be honorary casketbearers. Burial will be at Sand Valley Lutheran Cemetery, rural Trail.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, January 22 with an 8 p.m. prayer service at Carlin-Hoialmen Funeral Home in Fosston and one hour prior to services at the church on Friday.
Ervin Arnold Weberg was born on January 9, 1926 in Hill River township of Polk County to Arthur and Emma (Tollefson) Weberg. He grew up near Trail, attended Trail Public School and was baptized in the Lutheran faith. He served in the United States Marine Corps in World War II and received an honorable discharge.
He was united in marriage to Violet Rustan. They lived in Milwaukee, WI, and later Ervin worked on a ranch in Wolf Point, MT. In 1955 he moved back to Trail where he has since resided. Ervin worked construction and did some farming in the area.
He was a long-time member of Sand Valley Lutheran Church and was a former member of the city council in Trail. He liked animals and gardening and enjoyed visiting with family and friends.
Ervin is survived by two daughters, Pam Field of Tucson, AZ and Debra Kay (David) Haugen of Brooklyn Park; two sons, Gary (Barb) Weberg of Plano, TX and Scott Weberg of Forest Lake; five grandchildren; one sister, Bernice Lorentzson of Climax; two brothers, Carl Weberg of Trail and Mervin Weberg of Foxboro, WI; two nephews; and many cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and one brother, Donald.
