
Warroad - Catherine Watson, 19, died Thursday, July 27, 2000 at Warroad.
Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, August 1 at Woodland Bible Church in Warroad. Interment was in America Cemetery at rural Warroad. The Helgeson Funeral Chapel of Warroad was in charge of the arrangements.
Catherine Denise Watson was born on July 29, 1980 in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada, the daughter of D. Mark and Deborah (Lobson) Watson. She moved to Warroad in 1985, attending school there and graduating from Warroad High School in 1998. She attended Northwest Technical College in East Grand Forks, graduating with an Associate in Applied Science degree in practical nursing. She later atttended Northland Community and Technical College in Thief River Falls where she worked toward a degree in registered nursing.
In high school, Catherine was a member of National Honor Society and was active in cheerleading, concert, jazz and pep bands, B.P.A., Spanish Club and track and cross country. She worked at Warroad Care Center during and following high school.
She enjoyed taking care of people, especially the elderly.
Catherine is survived by her parents, Mark and Deborah Watson; five sisters, Jennifer (Joe) Strand of Eagle Pass, Texas, and Laurie (special friend Rhody Heneman), Christy, Keri and Sarah Watson, all of Warroad; grandparents, George and Doreen Lobson of Victoria, British Columbia, Canada and Doug and Lorna Watson of Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada; three nieces; and fiance, Jared Woidtke of Grand Forks, N.D.
