Karen Wagner, 59

Greenbush - Karen Wagner, 59, died Sunday, December 5, 1999 at the Roseau Area Hospital in Roseau.

Funeral services will be held today (Wednesday, December 8) at 11 a.m. at Moe Lutheran Church in Roseau with Rev. John Martinson officiating. Interment will be in Moe-Rose Cemetery in Roseau.

Visitation was held on Tuesday, December 7 from 4 to 7 p.m. at Helgeson Funeral Home in Roseau with 7 p.m. devotional services and for one hour prior to services at the church on Wednesday.

Karen Elda Paulsen was born on December 18, 1939 in Barnett township near Badger, the daughter of Walter and Luella (Connover) Paulsen. She graduated from Badger High School in 1957.

On July 21, 1958 she was united in marriage to James Wagner at Badger. The couple moved to Fargo, ND where Karen attended Interstate Business College and worked for Western Newspaper Union. In April of 1960 they moved to Ft. Louis, WA where she served as an apartment manager for Tacoma Townhouses and was employed by the city attorney of Auburn, WA.

In 1969 Karen and her family moved to Roseau. She did secretarial work for Polaris Industries for a short time and then joined the Delmore Clinic. There she performed the duties of every office position before eventually becoming the clinic's manager. During her 27 years of employment the clinic experienced many changes. Her responsibilities extended beyond the Roseau Medical Clinic to Warroad as well as Greenbush and Karlstad for a limited time. Health reasons forced Karen to officially retire at the age of 58.

She was an active member of the Roseau American Legion and had previously served as its president.

Karen is survived by her husband, James Wagner of Greenbush; one daughter, Kelly (William) Schuster of Apple Valley; one son, John (Jamie) Wagner of Cove, AR; two grandchildren; her mother, Luella Gregerson of Badger; one brother, Wesley (Bonnie) Paulsen of Greenbush; and one sister, Paulette (Marlo) Nelson of Strathcona.

She was preceded in death by her father and brother, Peter. A00003B1999DC08
