
Eden Prairie - Rev. Ernest J. Vick, 79, died Saturday, March 1, 1997 in Eden Prairie. Arrangements were with Swanson Peterson Funeral Home.
Funeral services were held Thursday, March 6 at Crystal Free Church in New Hope with Rev. Lester Nelson and Rev. Ed Bender officiating. Burial was in Cokato City Cemetery of Cokato.
Casketbearers were Jonathan Peterson, Erik Peterson, Christopher Peterson, Andrew Vick, Kari Shrader, Amy Vick, Amanda Shrader and Landan Vick.
Rev. Ernest J. Vick was born on March 8, 1918 in Spring Grove, the son of Albert and Minnie Vick. He served as pastor at the Newfolden Evangelical Free Church for eight years, Elim Mission Church of Cokato for eight years and Berean Evangelical Free Church of Brooklyn Center for five years. He also served as Administrator of the Evangelical Free Church Home of Boone, IA for 16 years. He served several years on the North Central District Board of the Evangelical Free Church of America and as Treasurer of the National Evangelical Free Church Ministerial Association. He was a charter member of the Cokato Rotary Club.
He is survived by wife Helen of 53 years; sons Dr. David (Penny) Vick of Edina and Lowell (Margaret) Vick of Northville, MI; daughters Dorothy (Dr. Larry) Peterson of Rochester and Marilee (Kenneth) Shrader of Evergreen CO; eight grandchildren; brothers Alvin (Ruth) Vick of Richfield and Rev. Oliver Vick of Lancaster, WI;' and many other loved ones and friends.
He was preceded in death by daughter Arlinda Jane; parents; and brother Morris of Spring Grove.
