Robert Viau, 75

Grand Forks, ND - Robert R. Viau, 75, died Thursday, May 13, 1999 at Altru Hospital in Grand Forks, ND.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. on Monday, May 17 at Calvary Lutheran Church in Grand Forks. Burial was in Sunnywood Garden in Grand Forks.

Robert R. Viau was born in June of 1923 in Crookston, the son of Louis and Mabel (Berg) Viau. He graduated from high school in Crookston in 1943 and serviced in the U.S. Army Air Corps and U.S. Army during World War II.

In 1945 he returned to Crookston and served in the U.S. Army Reserves. He worked at Purdy's Shoe Store in Thief River Falls. In 1951, he served with the U.S. Army in Korea.

On July 22, 1954, he married Enid Johnson at Devils Lake, ND. Robert worked at a shoe store in Devils Lake and at Purdy's Shoe Store in Thief River Falls. Later he worked for Sears in Thief River Falls, Devils Lake and Glendive, MT. In 1964, he moved to Grand Forks, ND where he worked for Sears, retiring in 1986. He also worked for The Bootery in Grand Forks.

Robert is survived by his wife, Enid; two sons, Dan of Brainerd and Kip (Tricia) of Thompson, ND; five grandchildren; and two sisters, Virginia Capistran and Lorraine Junkie, both of Montgomery, AL.
