East Grand Forks -- Greta Claire Vandeventer, 66, East Grand Forks, died Tuesday, August 25, 1998 at her home. Funeral services were held Thursday, August 27, at the Stennes Funeral Home Chapel, East Grand Forks. Burial will be in Resurrection Cemetery in East Grand Forks.
Greta was born on May 1, 1932 in Fargo, ND. She grew up with her mother Myrtle Lenzen in Grand Forks and attended school at St. Michael's and Sacred Heart schools. She married LeRoy Vandeventer on February 4, 1950 at Crookston, MN. They moved to Olympia, WA, where she worked in the food service industry. In 1983 they moved to Thief River Falls. She was a manager of the Dean Boushee Property Management, and a waitress at the Best Western in Thief River Falls. After LeRoy died in 1983 she moved to East Grand Forks where she worked for Whitey's Cafe.
She is survived by two daughters: Karen Ward, and Donna Marcotte both of Grand Forks, ND, and one son: Robert of East Grand Forks, seven grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband Buzz Vandeventer.
