
Minneapolis - Ruth Twete, 98, died October 1, 1999 in Minneapolis.
Funeral services were held on Tuesday, October 5 at Mt. Olivet Careview Nursing Home chapel with Rev. Laurel Lindberg officiating. The First Memorial Waterson Chapel was in charge of the arrangements. On Wednesday, October 6 a committal service conducted by Rev. Daniel Horn was held at Greenwood Cemetery in Thief River Falls.
Ruth Lynette Rustad was born on September 3, 1901 in Hallock, the daughter of Andrew and Anna Rustad. After graduating from Hallock High School, she took telegraphy training in Fargo, ND. Ruth worked in Worthington, Redfield, SD and Wabasha before moving to Thief River Falls.
In June of 1924 she was united in marriage to Dr. Leonard R. Twete who had a veterinarian practice in Thief River Falls for over 35 years. After her husband died, Ruth moved to Minneapolis, residing there until the time of her death.
Survivors include one daughter, Donna (Wilbert) Steinke; five grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; one sister, Anna May Story of Longview, WA; one daughter-in-law, Frieda Twete of New Brighton; one sister-in-law; and several nieces and nephews.
Ruth was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Leonard; one son, Louis; three brothers, Richard, Harold and Herman; and two sisters, Irene and Caroline.
