
Clearbrook - John Tveitbakk, 76, died Wednesday, March 12, 1997 at his home. Arrangements were with Cease Family Funeral Home of Bagley.
Funeral services were held Saturday, March 15 at the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church of Clearbrook with Rev. Richard Walvatne officiating. Burial will be in Silver Creek Cemetery of Clearbrook in the spring.
John was born November 10, 1920 in Gully, the son of Bjorn and Ida (Aasen) Tveitbaakl. He attended school in the Gully area. He worked on the home farm and was united in marriage to Irene Shelquist on September 12, 1942 in Clearbrook. He was drafted into the Army Air Force in 1942. He was stationed in the Aleutian Islands. He was honorably discharged in 1946. He was the shop foreman for Case Implement in Grand Froks, ND until his retirement in 1983 when they moved from Grand Forks, ND to Clearbrook.
He was a member of the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church of Clearbrook. He was a member of the American Legion, VFW #1260 of Bemidji and the Order of the Eagles in Bemidji. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, wood working, and especially making clocks.
He is survived by wife Irene of Clearbrook; brother Olaf (Harriet) Tveitbakk of Clearbrook; sisters-in-law Lorraine Tveitbakk of Clearbrook, and Verna (Al) Harvath of Richfield; several neces and nephews; and special friend Josh Tollefson of Leonard.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and brothers Hlaver, Louie and Thor.
