William Turtle, 70

Gibbon - William Turtle, 70, died Monday, August 21, 2000 in Moltke township, Sibley County.

Funeral services were held Friday, August 25 at 2 p.m. at Augustana Lutheran Church in Gibbon with Rev. Allen E. Johnson officiating. Casketbearers were Amos Schwarzrock, Earl Wise, Curtis Kramer, Dana Turtle, Derek Turtle and Christopher Turtle. Interment was at Augustana Lutheran Cemetery in Gibbon.

William "Bill" Lloyd Turtle was born March 27, 1930 in St. Peter. As an adult he owned farm property around Goodridge and Plummer.

He is survived by his wife Erma Turtle of rural Gibbon; four sons, Lyle (Jean) of Stewartville, Mark (Frances) and Brad (Mary), all of Gibbon, and Kent (Margie) of Collierville, Tenn.; one daughter, Beth (Greg) Wendinger of New Ulm; three brothers, Quentin (Bea) of Cranston, R.I., Dennis (Mary Jean) of North Mankato and Richard (Sharon) of Mankato; sisters, Dorothy Otto and Carmen Heinze both of North Mankato, Nancy (Arvin) Rolfs of Brooklyn Center and Joan (John) Yee of Loveland, Colo.; fourteen grandchildren and three step grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and an infant sister Donna.
