Patricia Thompson, 56

Greenbush - Patricia Thompson, 56, died Tuesday, January 23, 2001 at Roseau Area Hospital in Roseau.

Services were held on Sunday, January 28, at 2 p.m. Bethel Lutheran Church in Greenbush. Marie Olson served as the organist and vocalist. Gieseke Funeral Chapel of Greenbush was in charge of the arrangements.

Patricia Ann Kough was born on January 11, 1945 at Faribault, the daughter of Gerald and Eileen (Neagle) Kough. As a child, she moved with her parents to St. Paul where she grew up and graduated from St. Joseph's Academy. She attended the University of Minnesota for a year.

On June 17, 1967, Patricia married Robert S. Thompson at St. Paul. The couple lived at Brooklyn Center before moving to Greenbush in 1976. Robert died on June 21, 1989.

On August 22, 1992, she married Peter Duncan at Bethel Lutheran Church in Greenbush. In 1993, Patricia graduated from Northland Community and Technical College in Thief River Falls. Until the time of her death, she was employed as an advocate for the Violence Intervention Project.

Patricia was a board member of the Minnesota Coalition for Battered Women. She had served on the Greenbush school board and was a member of Bethel Lutheran Church, singing in its choir for several years.

Patricia is survived by her husband, Peter Duncan of Greenbush; a daughter, Sarah Thompson of Greenbush; her mother, Eileen Kough of St. Paul; a brother, William Kough of St. Paul; and three sisters, Kathleen Kough, Mary (John) Leas and Barbara Kough, all of St. Paul; three stepsons, Bill (Becky) Duncan of Rochester, and Jamie and Adam Duncan, both of Kasson; and three step-grandsons.
