Thief River Falls - Lucille Thompson died Tuesday, May 23, 2000 at Northwest Medical Center in Thief River Falls.
Funeral services
were held at 2
p.m. on Saturday,
May 27, at Green Funeral Home in Thief River Falls with Rev. Tim
Bauer officiating. Grace Hammer was the organist and soloist.
Casketbearers were Corey Stage, Robert Carson, David Thompson,
Christopher Thompson and Gene Calif. Interment was in Oak Ridge
Cemetery in Norden township of Pennington county.
Lucille Ann Olson was born on September 30, 1929 in Thief River Falls, the daughter of Ordean Kornelius and Elsie Marie (Seaverson) Olson. She was baptized and confirmed at the Norwegian Lutheran Church in St. Hilaire. She attended school through the eighth grade in St. Hilaire before moving to Thief River Falls where she graduated from Lincoln High School in 1948. Lucille worked at Red Owl, Montgomery Ward and Ben Franklin in Thief River Falls following graduation. In 1951, she moved to Portland, Ore. where she worked at the Pacific Bell Telephone Company.
On August 29, 1953, she was united in marriage to S.R. Thompson Jr. at Stevenson, Wash. The couple moved to Burbank, Calif. where Lucille began raising her family. She returned to Thief River Falls in 1959, continuing to raise her family here.
Survivors include two sons, Donald (Shirley) Thompson of Hoodsport, Wash. and David (Diane) Thompson of Long Prairie, Neb.; one daughter, Debra Stage of Thief River Falls; seven grandchildren; and one brother, Ardelle (Myrtle) Olson of Portland, Ore.
Lucille was preceded in death by her parents; special friend, Myrl Johnson; and one sister. A00003B2000MY31
