LeVaun Thompson, 65

International Falls - LeVaun Thompson, 65, died Tuesday, March 2, 1999 at Virginia Regional Medical Center in Virginia.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, March 5 at Zion Lutheran Church in International Falls with Reverend Paul Baker officiating. Interment will be in Forest Hill Cemetery.

Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, March 4 at the Green-Larsen Funeral Home in International Falls.

LeVaun Mary Hinkel was born on February 13, 1934 in Tuttle, ND, the daughter of Jacob and Amelia (Melhoff) Hinkel. In 1935, she moved to the Williams area where she grew up and attended school, graduating from Williams High School.

In 1951 she married Freeman Besch Sr. On January 12, 1974 she married Michael Thompson in International Falls.

LeVaun worked as a cook in the Falls area. Places of employment included Rainy Lake Lodge, Island View Lodge, Falls Country Club and Vintage Place. She was a member of the Moose Club and Zion Lutheran Church and enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren.

She is survived by her husband, Michael of International Falls; three sons, Randy (Jane) Besch, Freeman (Lisa) Besch and Rocky Besch, all of International Falls; three stepdaughters, Pamela (Gary) Saunders of International Falls, Sandra (Steve) Roth of Stillwater and Patricia Green of Carol Stream, IL; 18 grandchildren; one sister, Viola Hopkins of Ishpeming, MI; one brother, Vernon Hinkel of Soap Lake, WA; her mother-in-law, Lu Hendrickson of Thief River Falls; and several other in-laws and relatives.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Freeman Besch; her parents; one son, Ricky Ray Besch in 1993; three brothers; and three sisters. A00003B1999MR03
