
Kearney, NE - Margaret Taylor, 79, died Wednesday, June 18, l997 at Good Samaritan Hospital in Kearney, NE.
Funeral services were held Saturday, June 21 at 10:30 a.m. at Megrue-Price Funeral Home Chapel in Superior, NE with Pastor Bob Wine officiating.
Graveside services were held Monday, June 23 at 1 p.m. at Greenwood Cemetery in Thief River Falls with Rev. Bob Abbot officiating. Musical selections, "In the Garden" and "Mansion Over the Hilltop", were sung. Pallbearers were Donnie Joppru, Orrin Joppru, Andy Joppru, Ricky Joppru, Larry Joppru, Bob Nelson, Rocky Joppru and Dean Joppru.
Margaret Taylor was born October 7, l917 at Fisher, the daughter of Andrew and Tilda (Berglund) Joppru. She was raised in Thief River Falls and attended school here. She was employed by Narverud Cleaners and after completing nurses training, worked at Northwestern Hospital in Thief River Falls.
On February 17, l951, she was united in marriage to Arthur W. Taylor in Thief River Falls. The couple lived in Babbitt for 12 years before moving to Mentor where they owned and operated A&M Hartz Grocery Store. From Mentor, the couple moved to Warren where Art served as a full-time pastor. From Minnesota, the couple moved to Nebraska and lived in Riverton, Kearney and Superior. For the past two years, Art has been a pastor in Jewell, KS. Margaret was an honorary member of the Jewell Assembly of God Church.
Margaret is survived by her husband Arthur of Superior; two sons, Wallace Taylor of Fargo, ND and Rev. Kenneth (Naomi) Taylor of Verndale; one daughter, Carol (Terry) Snyder of Bayard, NE; seven grandchildren; four brothers, Sander (Violet) Joppru, Art (Evelyn) Joppru, Orville (Marian) Joppru, all of Thief River Falls, and Richard (Kay) Joppru of Fredrick, MD; and two sisters-in-law, Mildred Joppru and Gertie (Joppru) Johnson, both of Thief River Falls.
She was preceded in death by her parents; five brothers, Ted, Alfred, Ole, Melvin and Clarence Joppru; and one sister, Alma Owen.
