Concordia, KS - Shelly Swanson, 35, died Friday, May 7, 1999 at Republic County Hospital in Belleville, KS.
Funeral services will be held today (Wednesday, May 12) at Evangelical Mission Covenant Church in Kennedy. Visitation will be held for two hours prior to services. The Collins Funeral Home of Karlstad is in charge of the arrangements.
Shelly Rae Larson was born on January 31, 1964 at Grafton, ND, the daughter of Robert and Adeline (Olson) Larson. She lived with her family in St. John, WA through her elementary school years. The family then moved to Donaldson where Shelly was confirmed and a member of St. Olaf Lutheran Church. She attended Kennedy High School.
In 1981 she married Mark Danielson at Drayton, ND, and the couple had two daughters.
On April 4, 1986 Shelly married Rodney Swanson at Hysperia, CA. The couple farmed and operated a trucking business at Kennedy. Due to flood relocation they had been temporarily residing near Concordia, KS. Shelly suffered a heart attack while enjoying a telephone conversation with friends in Concordia.
She enjoyed NASCAR races with friends and family and traveling to all the states while trucking with her husband and sister of Pro Transport. She also enjoyed cooking, gardening, canning, raising animals and helping people.
Shelly is survived by her husband, Rodney; two daughters, Lisa Danielson of Talmo, KS and Jennifer Danielson of Roseau; her mother, Adeline Larson of Karlstad; maternal grandmother, Mabel Olson of Hallock; five brothers, Richard (Janelle) Larson of Spokane, WA, James and Erik, both of Donaldson, Kim (Shari) of Warren, and Greg (Sheila) of Kennedy; three sisters, Sharon (Glen) DeMar of Knapp, WI, Donna (Tom) Odegard of Seattle, WA, and Arlene Larson of Donaldson; her ex-husband, Mark Danielson of Grand Forks, ND; and several nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives.
Shelly was preceded in death by her father, Robert, in 1986. A00003B1999MY12
