Mary Ann Swanson, 71

Radium - Mary Ann Swanson, 71, died Saturday, May 2, 1998 at the Good Samaritan Center in Warren.

Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, May 5 at First Lutheran Church in Warren. Interment was in Greenwood Cemetery in Warren. The Quanrud-DuBore Funeral Home of Warren was in charge of the arrangements.

Mary Ann Molstad was born on October 3, 1926 on her parents' farm near Thief River Falls, the daughter of Oliver and Lena (Riedle) Molstad. She attended country school and Lincoln High School in Thief River Falls. She worked in the bakery department at the LB Hartz Store in Thief River Falls until her marriage.

On May 1, 1949 Mary Ann was united in marriage to Ralph Swanson at Silverton Lutheran Church in rural Thief River Falls. They couple lived near Radium. Ralph died on February 6, 1997.

Mary Ann was a member of the First Lutheran Church where she taught Sunday school and was active with First Lutheran Women. She was also a member of the VFW Auxiliary 2793.

She enjoyed cooking, sewing, cake decorating and embroidery work.

Mary Ann is survived by two daughters, Cheryl (Bryce) Ernst of Gillette, WY and Carol (Corby) Harty of Warren; one son, William (Brenda) Swanson of Mesa, AZ; nine grandchildren; one great-grandson; two sisters, Betty Woolman of Alpine, CA and Dorothy Johnson of Argyle; two brothers, Larry Molstad and Clebert Molstad, both of Thief River Falls; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and two brothers, Clayton Molstad and Oliver Molstad.
