
Goodridge - George "Mick" Sunsdahl, 71, died Thursday, December 4, 1997 at Northwest Medical Center in Thief River Falls.
Funeral services were held Monday, December 8 at 2 p.m. at Ekelund Lutheran Church in Goodridge with Reverend Robert Dahlen officiating. Special music was provided by Grace Hammer. Casketbearers were Richard Sunsdahl, Roy Sunsdahl, Keith Haugen, Loren Gangness, Joel Gangness, Michael Gangness and David Sunsdahl. Burial was at Ekelund Cemetery. The Green Funeral Home of Thief River Falls was in charge of the arrangements.
George Harris Sunsdahl was born August 2, 1926 in Star township of Pennington County, the son of Henry and Gertie (Bjornson) Sunsdahl. He was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith and attended Clovernook rural public school in District 5. Mick worked on the family farm until 1951 when he moved to Hibbing to work in the mines. In 1955 he returned to the family farm where he worked and spent time taking care of his parents as they grew older. He remained on the farm until the time of his death. He was a member of Ekelund Lutheran Church.
Mick is survived by four brothers, Virgil (Joan) of Soudan, Floyd (Vivan) Biwabik, Alvin (Sharyl) of Salol and Obert (Sandy) of Thief River Falls; two sisters, Emma Kappala of Chisholm and Janice (Orrin) Haugen of Hibbing; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and two brothers, Hubert and Roy.
