
Tower - Frances K. Sunsdahl, 86, died Friday, September 12, 1997 at Virginia Region Medical Center.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, September 16 at 1 p.m. at Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church in Tower with Reverend Daniel Kroonquist officiating. Casketbearers were Douglas Latawiec, Chester Latawiec Jr., Terry Sunsdahl, Keith Torma, Glenn Harle Jr. and Scott Verbout. Burial was at Lakeview Cemetery of Tower. The Landsmark Funeral Home of Virginia was in charge of the arrangements.
Frances K. Hruby was born on November 25, 1910 in Star township of Pennington County, the daughter of Benjamin and Rosalie (Edel) Hruby. The family moved to Erie where Frances grew up and attended school. On April 5, 1928, she was united in marriage to Emanuel Sunsdahl at Heron, SD. The couple lived in Goodridge, Calumet and Soudan. Since 1973, they made their home in Tower.
Frances was a homemaker who enjoyed fishing, bingo and watching sports on television.
Survivors include three daughters, Elsie (Chester) Latawiec of New Brighton, Irene (Melvin) Verbout of Fargo, ND and Marilyn Harle of Webster, WI; two sons, Orvis (Penny) Sunsdahl and Emanuel F. (Judy) Sunsdahl, all of Soudan; four sisters, Lillian Tanem, Adeline Prevost and Violet (Al) Radniecki, all of Oklee, and Deloris Healy of San Mateo, CA; 15 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; and one great great-grandson.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Emanuel; three sisters, Alice Parson, Rosalie Aaknes and Louise Sandstrum; two brothers, Lewis and Rudolph Hruby; and one granddaughter, Michelle Sunsdahl.
