Mildred Sullivan, 90

Phoenix, Ariz. - Mildred Sullivan, 90, formerly of Thief River Falls, died Sunday, October 8, 2000 at Phoenix Baptist Hospital in Phoenix, Ariz.

Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. on Thursday, October 12, 2000 at St. John Lutheran Church in Thief River Falls with Rev. Don Kirchner officiating. Elaine Idso was the organist. Casketbearers were John Fladeland, Rance Fladeland, Robert Fladeland, Bobby Fladeland, Chad Fladeland and Terrance Fladeland. Burial was in Hyllestad Cemetery in Trail county of North Dakota.

Mildred L. Fladeland was born on November 16, 1909 at rural Reynold, N.D., the daughter of John and Ingebor (Roinstad) Fladeland.

On September 2, 1934, she was united in marriage to Paul Sullivan at Watertown, Ma. She worked as a volunteer at Perkins Institute for the Blind at Watertown. The couple moved to Thief River Falls in 1957 where Mildred was a homemaker. Paul died on October 15, 1982. In 1989, Mildred moved to Arizona where she resided with her nephew and niece, John and Connie Fladeland.

She was a member of St. John Lutheran Church.

Survivors include several nieces and nephews, including Bob (Barbara) Fladeland of St. Hilaire.

In addition to her husband, Mildred was preceded in death by her parents; four sisters, Sina Waterhouse, Joan Fink, Betty Tarteff and Olena Fladeland; and two brothers, Andrew and Ole Fladeland. A00003B2000OC18
