
Monticello - Rosella A. "Rose" Stumpf, 81, died Thursday, July 23, 1998 at the Monticello-Big Lake Nursing Home in Monticello.
Mass of Christian burial was held on Monday, July 27 at 10 a.m. at St. Henry's Catholic Church of Monticello with Father Marc Maus officiating. Casketbearers were Wayne Eicher, John Rudolph, Kenny Stumpf, Kevin Eicher, Robbie Weege and Billy Eicher. Interment was in St. Francis Cemetery of Buffalo. Funeral arrangements were with the Peterson-Grimsmo Chapel of Monticello.
Rosella A. Eicher was born on November 9, 1916 in St. Michael, the daughter of Henry and Clementine (Vetsch) Eicher. She grew up in the St. Michael area.
Rose was united in marriage to Walter Stumpf on September 7, 1937 in St. Michael. The couple made their home in rural Waverly until 1951 when they moved to Buffalo where they lived until 1958. From 1958 until 1966 they lived in Hopkins when they returned to Buffalo. They resided there until 1977. Since 1977 Rose has made her home in Monticello.
She was a member of St. Henry's Catholic Church of Monticello.
Rose is survived by two sons, Charles (Gayle) of Monticello and LeRoy (Carol) of Thief River Falls; two daughters, Marlene Stumpf Johnson and Kathy Burzinski, both of Monticello. eight grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and six brothers and sisters.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Walter in 1971, four brothers, one sister and two sons-in-law.
