Malcolm Stucy, 90

Thief River Falls - Malcolm Stucy, 90, died Friday, April 25, 1997, at Oakland Park Nursing Home in Thief River Falls.

Funeral services were held April 29 at Oak Park Lutheran Church, rural Oklee with the Reverend Dan Faugstad officiating. Burial will be at Oak Park Cemetery, Deer Park township, Pennington county.

Malcolm Julian Stucy was born June 3, 1906 in Thief River Falls, the son of the late Otto and Agnes (Costello) Stucy. The family homesteaded in Hickory township, Pennington county, and 1913 they moved to Deer Park township. He was baptized and confirmed in the Christian Faith and attended area schools. On June 15, 1938, he was united in marriage to Opal

Halvorson. The couple farmed and lived on the home farm. Malcolm also worked at Arctic Cat for many years. In November 1996, he moved to Valley Home and on April 4, 1997, he moved to Oakland Park Nursing Home.

Malcolm and Opal were selected Red River Valley Farm couple for Pennington County and received the Valley Farmer and Homemaker Award in 1972. They were inducted into the Pennington County 4-H Hall of Fame in 1984. Malcolm was a long time member of Oak Park Lutheran church and was very active in the church and community.

He is survived by two daughters, Nancy Teigland and her husband Gene of Minneapolis, and Faye Johnson and her husband Carl of Chico, CA; four grandchildren; two great-granddaughters; one brother, Kenneth Stucy of Oklee; one sister, Ruth Klove and her husband Roy of Detroit Lakes; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his wife Opal on December 5, 1994; his parents; brothers, Arthur, John, Harry, and three infants; and two sisters, Margaret Ekwall and Marie Vettleson.
