Warren - Helga Strand, 90, died June 9, l997 at the Good Samaritan Center in Warren.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, June 12 at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Warren. Visitation will be after 6:30 p.m. today at the Quanrud-DuBore Funeral Home in Warren and one hour before services at the church on Thursday. Interment will be in Greenwood Cemetery in Warren.
Helga Haugen was born on May 15, 1907 at Newfolden the daughter of Hans and Annethe Johnson. She was raised in Newfolden where she attended school. She was united in marriage to Theodore Strand on October 29, 1926 at Newfolden where they made their home. In 1941, they moved to rural Warren where they farmed. She was a member of Our Savior's Lutheran Church, the Priscilla circle and the ladies aid.
Helga is survived by two daughters, Eunice Carlson of Racine, WI and Ardyce Dunnicliff of Fargo, ND; two sons, LeRoy of Bruce, WI and Dennis of Warren; 19 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; one daughter, Lorraine Potucek; two grandsons, Brian Strand and Andrew Carlson; one great-granddaughter, Melissa Wages; four brothers, Rudolph, Albert, Bertil and Arthur; and four sisters, Mabel Olson, Minnie Olson, Agnes Olson and Myrtle Hjelle.
