
Fairbanks, AK - Robert Stenvik, 64, died Sunday, October 11, 1998 in Fairbanks, AK.
Funeral services were held on Friday, October 16 at 2 p.m. at the New Hope Methodist Presbyterian Church. Burial was in Northern Lights Memorial Park. The Fairbanks Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
Robert Stenvik was born on July 20, 1934 on the family farm in Goodridge, the son of Reuben and Florence (Rindahl) Stenvik.
Robert married the mother of his five children in 1956. They lived in Embarrass until 1968 when they moved to Alaska. Following the couple's divorce in 1970, Robert never remarried. He was a heavy equipment operator at Erie Mining Co. in Minnesota and for several construction companies in Fairbanks.
Robert enjoyed meeting his friends for coffee and family get-togethers. He shared a special bond with this 11th grandchild, RyAnn, who was born with spina bifida, a birth defect.
Survivors include two sons, Robin (Donna) Stenvik and Jonny (Twila) Stenvik, both of North Pole, AK; three daughters, Rhonda (Gary) Frost and Marie Trettel, both of North Pole, AK and Audrey Bren of Anchorage, AK; 12 grandchildren; three sisters, Adeline Peterson of North Pole, AK, Laurie Vraa of Embarrass and Betty Coan of Goodridge; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
