
Greenbush - John C. Stanislawski, 79, died Sunday, April 6, 1997, at the Karlstad Memorial Nursing Center. Funeral services were held Thursday, April 9, at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church in Greenbush. Interment was at St. Aloysius Catholic Cemetery in Leo.
John Lawrence Stanislawski, the son of the late Joseph and Regina (Maikowski) Stanislawski, was born May 2, 1917, in Polonia township, Roseau county near Greenbush, where he attended school. He was baptized and confirmed at St. Aloysius Catholic Church of Leo near his home.
On November 12, 1947, he was united in marriage to Christine Kasprowicz at South St. Paul. The couple settled on a farm in Polonia township where they lived and farmed until retirement in 1989. They then moved into Greenbush where they have since resided. John was a member of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church of Greenbush and of the Knights of Columbus. He also served on the Polonia town board. For the past month he has resided at Karlstad Memorial Nursing Center.
He is survived by his wife Christine; five sons, Donald (Kathleen), Newport, Robert (Cynthia), Austin, TX, William (Angela), Greenbush, and Harold (Mari) and Jeff (Tammy), both of Fergus Falls, three daughters, Rozanne, Mrs. Richard Barrick, Leander, TX, Peggy, Mrs. Brad Ochs, Elizabeth, CO, and Lori, Mrs. Glen Bakken, Grand Forks, ND; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; three sisters, Elizabeth Landowski, Ann Pakuer, and Frances Johnson, all of Greenbush, in addition to several nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, Agnes and Veronica, and three brothers, Frank, Felix and Richard.
